Planning Oversight Committee
The Planning Oversight Committee (POC) is charged by the Town Board to assist it by offering suggestions, guidance and monitoring regarding the timely implementation of recommendations and priorities contained in the Town of Sand Lake Comprehensive Plan
The POC will, among other things, evaluate community-based initiatives and recommend amendments to the Plan to benefit and enhance Sand Lake as a community in which to work and live.
“At the recommendation of the POC, the Town Board in 2021 created a Town committee (named the Trail Task Force) to explore development of a multi-use trail in Town. The Town, with help from the Trail Task Force, obtained a grant from the Hudson River Valley Greenway to pay most of the cost of a Trail Feasibility Study, which was conducted in 2024 and presented to the Town Board in January 2025.
